Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada

Cohiba

The Cohiba Brand is a relatively young label. It was introduced in 1966 and was initially developed to be used exclusively by Fidel Castro and other renowned officials in the Cuban Government. Since 1982, it became available for the rest of the world to enjoy.

Cohiba could be quite correctly called the forerunner of the Cuban style cigar. Only the best leaves from 10 farms of the Vuelta Abajo region provide Cohiba, the only brand ever to use three fermentations.

Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada

This Habanos Edición Limitada celebrates the 45th anniversary of Cohiba and was made in a unique format which was carefully selected especially for this event. These 10 habanos (52 ring gauge x 166mm length) with a dark wrapper dressing have been made completely by hand using only the finest, most excellent tobacco leaves. These leaves are the top leaves of the Tapado, which is a shade-grown, black tobacco plant found in the plantations of San Juan y Martinez and San Luis in the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba. The use of these leaves results in the unique, elegant dark color.

Exquisitely presented in a varnished box of 10, this full bodied, aromatic limited edition is simply packed with the rich flavours of chocolate, freshly roasted coffee beans and toasted grains.

These cigars also have an entirely handmade Maduro wrapper.

This Cohiba Habanos Edición Limitada cigar is very expensive, but until you have tried “the Cohiba”, you will never understand the multi-layered, velvety nuances of flavour that are possible. Aromatic, fragrant and rich but never overpowering.
